The seconds tick the time out

My birthday this year was really nice. Ben took me out a couple of days before my b-day and we had a grand old time as per usual. We went to New Orleans in the early evening and had dinner at the Napoleon house. I am in love with this place…I have been a couple of times before but that night it was especially romantic…we drank wine and Ben jokingly proposed again because the moment was so cheesy romantic. Ben had a muffaleta and I had this organic sandwich with sprouts and avocado…to which Ben asked "where's the meat?"…I love my meat and potato boy.

After the napoleon house we tracked over to our favorite haunt the carousel bar in the Hotel Monteleone. It was a chilly night so Ben had an Irish coffee and I had Chambord and Champagne yummo!

Next up we met Rick and Michelle for our double date...we watched There Will Be Blood. The movie left me feeling a bit uneasy in the end…I wasn't sure if I liked it or not it took me at least a nights sleep to start seeing how much I actually liked it. Daniel Day Lewis was amazing and they have great quotable lines….like…

Plainview: If you have a milkshake and I have a milkshake and I have a straw and my straw reaches across the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!

No Country for Old Men is still my pick for movie of the year …but DD Lewis is my pick for best actor. So Ben and I have seen all the Oscar nominated movies except Michael Clayton which we will see this week…we also want to see The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and Eastern Promises. Viggo Mortensen's is yummy!

So all and all my pre birthday night out was fun! Thanks Rick and Michelle we loved the double date…next time you guys choose the place and time.

My birthday day celebrations were low key just like I like it. My mom, Ben and I had lunch at La Casa and for dinner Ben cooked steak and home made mashed potatoes. My father in law and mother in law sent me a beautiful arrangement of flowers….thanks guys!

My mom made me a bread pudding instead of a cake….I love that women.

The next day I was leaving for my 13 day adventure to Asheville so I packed and went to sleep after watching a couple of family guys. Happy 26th to me! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!!!!
